Skincyclopedia 5% AHA + PHA Charcoal Face Serum combines mandelic acid, gluconolactone and activated charcoal to provide gentle chemical exfoliation for skin affected by blemishes, clogged pores and dullness.

Mandelic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, helps remove accumulated dead skin cells and improve uneven-looking texture. The polyhydroxy acid gluconolactone provides gentler surface exfoliation while helping maintain skin moisture.

Activated charcoal complements the exfoliating formula by helping remove surface impurities. Niacinamide supports a more balanced and even-looking complexion.

The lightweight serum is intended for evening use and is suitable for normal, oily and sensitive skin when introduced gradually.

Gluconolactone — PHA

How to use

Apply during the evening only to clean, dry skin.

Spread a small amount evenly over the face, avoiding the eyes, eye contour and lips. Follow with a gentle moisturising cream.

When introducing the serum, use it once or twice per week. If the skin tolerates it well, the frequency may be increased gradually.

Apply broad-spectrum facial sunscreen every morning while using the serum and for at least one week after discontinuing it.

Do not combine in the same routine with

• Other AHA, BHA or PHA exfoliating products
• Retinol or other retinoids
• Physical facial scrubs
• Strong peeling masks

Niacinamide and hydrating serums can be used on alternative days or according to individual skin tolerance.

Important warnings

• For external use only.
• Use only as directed.
• Avoid the eyes, eye contour and lips.
• Do not apply to broken, inflamed, irritated or sunburned skin.
• Perform a patch test 24 hours before the first application.
• Discontinue use if persistent irritation, rash or inflammation occurs.
• Do not use simultaneously with other exfoliating acids or retinoids.
• The product may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Daily SPF is essential.
• Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredient.
• Keep out of reach of children.
